Adam Loften is a documentary filmmaker, whose work explores the intersections of social and environmental shifts, spirituality, and ancestral wisdom. His films focus on personal stories highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage, protecting ecosystems, and fostering a deeper understanding of humanity's relationship with the natural world. His award-winning and Emmy and Peabody nominated projects have premiered at Tribeca, SXSW and have screened at film festivals around the world. His work is featured on PBS, National Geographic, Emergence Magazine, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and the New York Times.
Adam is particularly recognized for his collaborations with Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee. Their most recent Shifting Landscapes film series, explores the power of art and story to orient us amid the darkness of our time.
Adam lives, works, and plays with his family on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok in Petaluma, California.
